I THINK I'M JUST going to blame inflation. The dollar, after all, is now worth 570 Cf, at least at Regal supermarket, where I bought some water today. It was 555 Cf earlier in the week.

So that's why 5 bananas set me back 450 Cf, even after hard bargaining. At least that's what I'm telling myself. They're nice ones, though. And I didn't get them from my (erstwhile) madame qui vend des bananes (MQVB), whom I'm clearly boycotting.

I'll let you know how they are. They do look like better fruit than the relative shvach MQVB peddles, and I'm not just saying that to make MQVB defend her bananas on the blog. Though if she wants to -- si vous voudriez le faire, MQVB -- go ahead. Si'l vous plait.
